We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to work as a Sunday Club and Families Worker to support and be involved in the mission and management of the Sunday Club, assisting with Christian discipleship in families and young people and to support and provide learning and family activities in the Cathedral.
Hours: The role is part time and will vary weekly to an average of 7 hours per week.
The hours are flexible but will need to incorporate the following:
Sunday Club: 3-4 hours on Sunday mornings and 1 hour midweek during term time (35 weeks). You will be required to undertake Sunday Club activities at Christmas and Easter.
Family activities: 2 weekdays (14 hours) per week for 11 weeks of school holidays plus 12 Saturday mornings (3 hours) monthly.
Pay: The salary is £13.19 per hour
About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to work as a Sunday Club and Families Worker to support and be involved in the mission and management of the Sunday Club, assisting with Christian discipleship in families and young people and to support and provide learning and family activities in the Cathedral.
The Sunday Club and Families Worker works closely with the leader of the Sunday Club and will participate and lead sessions. They will also act as administrator, point of contact and practical assistant on Sunday mornings. They will take responsibility for all aspects of Family activities. i.e. planning and preparing resources in advance, setting up and clearing away, delivering/overseeing sessions, instructing volunteers and adapting activities to match the audience.
The role will fulfil the strategic priorities of the Cathedral which are to grow communities of hope through prayer, worship and action and to establish a learning environment that enables visitors to learn about the love of God in Christ, the Cathedral, and our mission.
An Enhanced Child workforce with barring DBS check is required for this post.
