Statement from the Cathedral following the attendance of the emergency services

Today (20th December) a small fire broke out at Rochester Cathedral. The fire was quickly contained by Kent Fire and Rescue Service with no injuries. The Cathedral was evacuated as a precaution. 

The Cathedral will be closed tomorrow and all services suspended (21st December) to allow us to assess whether any damage has been caused. We plan to reopen on Friday and expect no changes to our Advent and Christmas services.
