Fine Art Textile artist Nicola Moody has collaborated with a Luton based charity called " Azalea" that works with women caught in commercial sexual exploitation. Five brave women shared their stories with the artist, and she has created 5 woven artworks that express their stories through the language of textiles.
Tear and Repair is touring ten cathedrals in 2020. The woven hangings suspended on copper frames are accompanied by 3 photo books and a film to provide additional information. Alongside the exhibition is a community weave for visitors to have a go at weaving for themselves.
On 16th March the artist will expand on the project, the textile techniques, the narratives and the work of Azalea. Register for the free talk below
