What is Gaia?
Measuring seven metres in diameter, Gaia features 120dpi detailed NASA imagery of the Earth’s surface*. The artwork provides the opportunity to see our planet on this scale, floating in three-dimensions. It was created by Luke Jerram.
Ticket Information
Do I need to book tickets to see Gaia?
Yes, it is essential to book tickets for Gaia. Information about the programme of events can be found here
Tickets are selling very quickly so advance booking is highly recommended. It is unlikely we will have tickets available on the door.
How will I receive my tickets?
We are using two ticket companies for this event. Eventbrite for free daytime tickets and Merac for evening and paid events.
You should receive an email from Eventbrite if you booked with them (this is your ticket). You may also be able to log into your account and access past bookings.
For evening or another paid event you should have received 2 separate emails. One from Rochester Cathedral and one from WorldPay. Your ticket is the email from Rochester Cathedral. Please take a note of your booking reference.
If you do not receive the email from Rochester Cathedral please check your junk folder before contacting us.
Can I change the date and time of my ticket?
Ticket dates and times cannot be altered once purchased. Please email info@rochestercathedral.org if you have any enquiries over this.
What happens if the timeslot I want is sold out?
Gaia is a popular event and tickets are selling fast. We may release limited tickets later and these will be announced on our newsletter and social media channels. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter or sign up to our newsletter on the side bar.
Do I need to print my tickets?
You can either print your ticket or use a screenshot on your phone when visiting.
Can I have a refund if I am no longer able to attend?
We are unable to offer refunds for this event. Please email info@rochestercathedral.org if you have any queries about this.
Visiting Gaia
Will I have to queue?
Queues are likely for this event, we will do our best to get everyone admitted as close to their time slot as possible.
What happens if I’m running late for my timeslot?
All tickets for Gaia will come with a timeslot. You can arrive at any point during your timeslot. Early admittance is not permitted but we will do our best to accommodate latecomers where possible but this is not guaranteed.

Do you have a Café?
Yes, we have the Café in the Crypt. This will be open during the day. (See opening times on website)
Do you have toilets?
Yes we do have toilets. These are located in the gardens of Rochester Cathedral. We also have a disabled toilet inside the Cathedral.
Do you have level access?
We have level access through the North Door of the Cathedral
Where can I park?
There are a number of public car parks close to the Cathedral. We encourage visitors to walk or use public transport where possible. More information about travelling to Rochester Cathedral can be found here
Other Queries
Will you have Covid restrictions for this event?
We will be following the government Covid-19 guidance for this event current at the time and the programme may be subject to change as a result. We will publish any changes to the advertised programme here and on our website. We would encourage masks to be worn while visiting Rochester Cathedral. More tickets may be released at a later date.
